Seashell

I feel just like a seashell
With my mind and spirit far away
With only my body here today
Sometimes I look around for a smile
To dill this emptiness for awhile
Put some laughter into this shell
And it can soothe the inner hell
Outside the shell is cast with beauty
But inside it’s only a duty
Washing in with a wave and back out again
Ever fading as the tide rolls in On a lonely beach the sun is set
My life is like an empty seashell
This life as a shell I’ll never forget
