Apathy

Chemicals, sing inside the temple walls
Causing trouble, burning holes in my aging clothes.
Prisoners, push the walls, force fed the pills
Just to make them sit still for a while, till they forget how to feel
Apathy, veins pumping dopamine
Waterfalls of ecstasy until the lake dries up
Sad Goodbyes, carry bags under their eyes
Make you feel the Dark Science, of your mind
Move the waves that drown my head
Push the tides from right to left
Cause you’re the moon that glows through the night
But i’m still afraid of the darker side
Will you be my light
Kind of wish I thought less and smiled more
That happy go lucky boy was never, the part I could play
and While I sink, further into lifes abyss
Push against at the dark love of apathy’s kiss
