Wondering

All the cars in this city are hatchbacks.
Driving somewhere; going nowhere fast.
And I’m just sitting at this bus stop
wondering back on opportunities that passed.
But in the light of greed and ambition,
we better not forget that life is never promised.
«Tomorrow» is a day you might not get.
There’s a far-away place where I’ve never been
Where all the silver and the gold they have no worth
Where we smile and we sing and we worry about nothing
Where we laugh and know what living’s for.
Have we all forgotten about promises?
Corporate sell-outs living out plan B
Hold your balance between fear and mediocrity
Just be careful not to reminisce on dreams
So am I selling out?
Or am I heaven-bound?
Waiting on the day where I can finally stay.
