I will paint sounds
You will hear them in red and gold
New and old sounds
Like a Tale being told
Every whisper, any sound that you may have made
With light and shade, will live again
I will make the world see them
There’ll be new sounds
Like the ring of our Chapel Bell
I will draw them
Like a hand from a well
I’ll recall them
In the shape of your fingertips, your eyes, your lips
And with my hand, I’ll remember and tell
Tell of evenings with strummed guitars
They’ll be there
And the ??? of Flamenco Feet
Flamenco Beat there too
You will see them
Every hot summer night when we rush
To kiss in a hush
Will fall from my brush
Open to view…*
But the Few sounds I’ll be seeking my whole life long
Are the new sounds, of the sounds of our love
They’ll be silent
Every cry that our passion brings
There won’t be strings to play them through
For that much I can’t do…
But your eyes will know, I will paint them for you
