Constantly in fear of losing control

I feel it squirming round inside, without a doubt
This most egregious beast, wants to break out
The metamorphosis begins to take over
Thrashing violently, tearing skin apart
Exoskeletal limbs erupt and
My heart spews bloody pulp all throughout my veins
Nothing but a soulless life form remains

A hapless vessel ruled by something so shrewd
I know of only one escape from this servitude
