Ambition

The cold horizon stretched further than my warm desires
So off I go into the night I’ll leave without my wires
And when the light returns my sight discerns a distant shine
And so it goes the less you know the less you tow
As the crest approaches I begin to rest my mind
But there I’ll find that the valley waits for no affair
The burning ember of my passion drives me on and on

Now the brush has thickened and laves have swallowed up th sky
A lonely feeling now has burrowed deep inside my mind
It guides me onward through the dimness of this current peril

The tenseness of the forest loosens up upon my throat
The path ahead is half as far as when I left my home
But I will never know my separation of ambition
