It doesn’t make a sound
Ripping through the pages of another time
And sometimes it’s hard enough creating versions in my mind
Like an engine hitting failure
Broken down from the night before
If there’s a chance to get it right, one thing worth waiting for
Like where I’ve been before
Kept out of sight but not out of life
Still swept aside and shackled by these penalties and rhymes
