Varee Is Love

When I was a young man,
there was a pretty young girl
that taught me a game of love.
She taught me that each letter
meant something special.
Something special like:
«L» means that lately, I been thinkin' we should be alone.
«O» means that only you can understand where I’m comin' from.
«V» is for Valentine, it means that you’ve won my heart (yes it does, now).
«E» is for everlasting love, that no strong wind can pull apart.
Varee, woman don’t you know that your name means love to me.
Varee, you’re the woman of mine, your name is love.
And then you left, and the words changed:
«L» is for the loneliness since you walked out of my life.
«O» means that obviously love has just passed me by.
«V» is for the vicious words that tore our lives apart.
«E» is evidently our love was a lie from the start.
