Shadows on My Wall

I’m making friends with the shadows on my wall
The shadows on my wall always answer when I call
The moon and I, we hold
Pleasant conversations
And we’ll small talk and wonder where the days went
I spend most of my time in bed
Tracing out silhouettes and imaginary friends
Why won’t you get out of my head?
Is anyone missing me
Possibly?
Chasing sirens through empty streets
I’ll tense my knees to kill my feet

They don’t talk much but it’s better than having no one there at all
And sometimes the moon leaves me alone
And sleeps behind the clouds
God why does the silence seem so loud?

They’re pretty quiet and they laugh at me when I fall
But it’s better than being alone I guess
