Waiting to Die

Wake up, in the morning
My friends still haven’t gone to bed
That day, when I’m wondering
If I should have my prostate checked
Somehow I knew it would happen
My parents have become my peers
Saying things like, 'In my day'
And, 'I haven’t seen you in years'
Since I only have one life, I suppose it would be nice
To live in that for more than just a night
Take a chance, open my eyes
And I know I’ll be alright,
I’m moving. on

Well, I can grow a beard now and I can rent a car
There’s so much less to fear now except for old timers
Well, soon, I’ll be a husband, one day, I’ll be a dad
I guess I’ve learned that growing up is really not that bad
Since I only have one life, I suppose it would be nice
To live in that for more than just a night
