Woke up in my old flat
And I look back
And I can’t stand
The way it feels
Post evening spiels
Nothing to reel
This hole congeals
AWOL my soul
Emotion tolled
By empty goals
Couldn’t say no
To one or all
Of these reliefs
Commitment’s plea
Was left to be
I’m just overthinking, really I’m alright
Am I?
Keep having those days where I can’t think
And I’m wondering what’s it mean?
What’s my mind’s obscurity
That stays and reins defeat
And we’ll go out tomorrow night
For the moment I’ll feel right
‘til the light of day breaks and paves the way to dismay
Feels like I haven’t smiled in a while
At least when I’m not trying please them all
At least when I’m not high and drinking some
-thing that makes me feel better
Feels like I never tried to keep someone
Feels like I’m gonna die a single soul
At least there’s alcohol and
Things that make the real better
Walk down this soulless road
The pavement glows
With street-lit woes
I had my time
Relieved a vial
But evening climbs
End in this mire
Black tar reflects
Concealed subjects
Again perplexed
By constant vex
Sober onset
When heading home
The air’s so cold
Been here before
They told me to relax and that I’ll be fine
