Waiting Awhile

Once in winter I watched the sky come down
Spraying white all over the night like a gown
Clouding my thoughts with visions of free
Alone in that storm is where I wanted to be
But I figured I’d stay there was a door in my way
And besides it was cold and dark
And who wants that anyway?
Once in that darkness I felt my life break down
I’d wanted to live, I’d wanted to love
But I just never got it around
I believe in that later on
But I’m regretting chances already gone
And the time keeps moving going by me so fast
I fear my future will soon be in my past
So come to me now and we could be leaving
Leaving the chains we ourselves have grown
For waiting awhile and we’ll still be grieving
Missing a piece of mind we’d never known
One tomorrow I’ll pack my inhibitions and go
Just shaking my fist at all I have missed
I’ll let the cold winds blow
