Storm Cellar Heart

Waking early
Moving quickly
Just in time to see morning glories
They’re in bloom now
A neighbor told me
That it helps to notice the small things
Taking time out
Taking shelter
To wait out this inclimate weather
And when you hold me
It’s so much better
It’s enough to drown out the thunder
It’s a still life
At my window
Sipping coffee
Watching the birds go
But is it still life?
It doesn’t feel so
Is it storms that help make the heart grow?
