Deceiver/Deceived

Do you believe everything you hear
Or is it only what you see?
Is everything really black and white
Or is it all a shade of grey?
Tell me
Is your head in the clouds
Or buried underground?
Lie, deny, evade
And bend the truth
Until it starts to break
(Distort reality)
So fake, persuade, betray
Then tell yourself that
Everyone’s to blame
Deceiver and deceived
Deceiver and deceived
(Deceiver and deceived)
Have you been sold, the river full of gold?
The castle on the hill of sand? (It starts to break)
Do you now see the forest for the trees
Or do you keep on falling for the sleight of hand?
Tell me
Is your head in the clouds
Or buried underground?
Lie, deny, evade
And bend the truth
Until it starts to break
(Distort reality)
So fake, persuade, betray
Then tell yourself that
Everyone’s to blame
Deceiver and deceived
Truth is not relative
Truth is absolute
To reject truth is a choice
And every choice has a consequence
Ugh
Go
Is your head in the clouds
Or buried underground?
Lie, deny, evade
Fake, persuade, betray
Lie, deny, evade
And bend the truth
Until it starts to break
(Distort reality)
So fake, persuade, betray
Then tell yourself that
Everyone’s to blame
Distort reality
Deceiver and deceived
