About you all along
Your voice was dead to me
Uttered my dead beat brain
As I sat and sulked in a smoke cloud of shame
I was the victim of the night
You’ve been a victim your whole life
I looked the other way
But looking nonetheless
I couldn’t recognize a face
Who didn’t share my interest
You were interested in what interests kids
I raised my snout and snarled back
The Cosmos sucked you in and spit you back again
While my telescope was cracked
