I give too much away
I don’t get back what I put into you
I could take my love and put it to use
I need some other way to keep you around
So you hold me down
But some people take advantage
I don’t think they could manage without my good intent or my helping hand
And they make me re-examine what kind of man I am and why I’m around, oh
I like happy people who put trust in me
See me as their equal but look up to m
It’s when passion and ego start confronting me
I need a plac to hide but I can’t so I’m-

I thought halfway people would put trust in me
