Here I am walking, far from familiar streets
Looking for someone who might resemble me
Whispering something, sounds like a traveler’s prayer
Saying luck play your hand, I am a stranger here
Time be a friend, show me which way to steer

Maybe it’s tucked in a journal you’ve carried for years
Engraved on a compass or long disappeared
The one in my head’s always ready when I need a spare
Reciting the words as I’m yearning for home
When daylight has left me by the side of the road
Nobody’s hurting and nobody’s cold anywhere
