Maybe I’ll climb a ladder
Just to be left alone
Start a solitary chapter
Far from the rocks and stone
Up on the highest tower
No one will hear me cry
No one will shut me up this time
A hundred feet above the city
A blanket of blue, my friend
Closer to the way I used to be
Closer to the nightmare’s end
I’ll shout out loud the secret
Anger wrapped in shame
Beg the sky to take it away
Let 'em catch me painting letters
Bright red and nearly four feet tall
On a canvas of metal
Spelled out on the water’s wall
Who will be the one to listen?
Who will try and right the wrong
Who will make the next decision
Who will make the weakest strong?
Up on the highest tower
No one will hear us cry
