Apparition

Suffering from depression
I wander into the dark
Embracing the blackness
And longing for death
Trapped inside and losing my mind
I try to escape the state of my pathetic life
Rising from the wastelands
I coldly emerge
Looking for a shimmer of light
And a purpose for being
I will survive
Reform my mind — turn from the lies
Discover a renewed reason — for living
Oh god i long for release from this depth
This hole in the ground — where i dwell
Unless you raise my wounded soul
I will not survive my hell
Help my weary feet to stand
And take me in your hand
Here i stand — my arms are raised
Ready to believe
Take away my pain and guilt
Alleviate my grief
I was once a working man
Restore my failing health
