I live in this place
and I wont be leaving anytime soon
I’ll be doing this
the rest of my live
give me back the last couple 20 years
it melted away like ice on my tongue
melted away like all the fun
melted away like all those who love me
melted away like all those i put above me
but everything gets old — though I like the money
every night I stumble home to a room
just in time to watch the countdown spin
spinning like a rare butterfly whose heart holds the pin
like a gambler who bet everything on a win
I knew I’d be doing this the rest of my life
