When I was a kid, I’d pretend I was adopted
And that’s why I didn’t understand the things that my dad did
But we don’t talk no more and it’s probably for the best
I was closer to my mother anyways

Covered his body with boils just to try to test his faith
Then I realized God was just having a bad self esteem day

When college stations were the only reasons I’d wake up
I left the bible home and gave up contact with my dad
I gave up hoping that the world would start to make more sense
