I’m standing still in a daze
I’m hypnotized, going numb
Every time I try to spell it out
And say it right, it’s always wrong
I feel I slipped past this empty page
I’m sorting through these jumbled words
I’m searching for something more
A paragraph, a perfect phrase
The missing piece, I’ve gotta find before
My story’s over before it starts
Just waiting till I reach, the end
It’s on the page just when I think
My favorite time is over
You found the words I couldn’t sing
They show there’s more to discover
Without you the words are lifeless
