You think you’re ready but you’re not
Though no one has trained more than you
But there’s no way to be prepared to be six million miles away
from the Earth
I thought that I’d think different thoughts
Without the atmosphere around me
But I still wonder what you’re doing
And if you burnt the frozen pizza that I left for you
Did you know there’s no sound out here
Like freshly falling snow
The weight of slowing waves can make you go

I said hello to the moon
As I passed by and peered at the craters
And I’d seen in movies and read in books and even took a look through telescopes
But it’s not the same
And all the stars around me
Feel like friendly faces
Then again it doesn’t take much for me not to feel lonely
It’s why I chose this life
