The countertop was filthy with beer bottles and ash
Smelt like backseat full of trash
We’d forgotten to clean
The scripts were read in programs for the whole wide world
Sitting in a hotel with the only girl
I’d forgotten to take
If I drop the ball
She’d be picking it up for me

She’d never talk after the beep
The crooked cans in boxes were too noisy in the hall
The landlord needs a haircut and overalls
