allah's collar

like the flea leaps from dog to dog
feeling thunder when the titan scratches
bite down and ride
monstrous voices i don’t understand
i might as well be comatose
flat line my future
smooth sailing makes me seasick
it’s no wonder i crave allah’s collar
like the leaf falls from the tree
becomes brittle its veins collapsing
turn brown and die
no one told me that this would happen
i defy my ignorance
my fatal embarrassment
i maintain my artifice
the filth crawls out from under allah’s collar
i carry this stink with me
everywhere just like a badge
constant source of distraction
pulling me away from allah’s collar
