Raindrops

Raindrops coming down in sheets on the street
And I’m driving too fast to have nowhere to be but
I’ve been getting anxious over the smallest of things
So I need to get away wherever that may be
Another long drive home under endless starry skies
Watch the headlights wander to the, end of the night
It’s a hard day ahead I can see it in your eyes
The way your looking towards the distance
Like daring the sun to rise
It’s just too late
For something like contemplation
It was raining not to long ago
I draw in condensation
Map out far and distant places
Find somewhere to collapse
No longer worried if I’m strong enough to bring myself back
I think of you every time I’m on this road
I’ve been so caught up on these things that I don’t know
It’s fine as long as I can keep myself afloat

My phone’s dead
I might follow in suit
Tell me why I play it cautious like I got something to lose
Always clouds in my face, always clouds in my views
Dreaming visions of a world where it’s only me and you
