If I Could Leave

Sometimes I sit in silence and wonder why
I can’t just leave this world, take to the skies
My heart gets heavy when I notice my legs won’t seem to do
There are so many places I’ll never know
The end of light and time and where they go
But I would settle for a small peak of what it means to be
I want to be much better than I am
My mind is weak, but if I had a chance
I’d shake my debts and I would get rid of all my memories
If I could start all over, truly be free
Forget the shackled soul I used to be
Forget that flying’s just a mournful in light of prisoner’s dreams
