His Story

He was in the corner for a while
He was doing bad things for a while
I lost all my faith in him for a while
I was really worried about him for a while
He was only burning bridges for a while
And I was the only one he would talk to for a while
That’s why I can say with hope
That letting go is possible, cuz
He’s ok, with the mess he made
He’s just writing the book of his own history, own history
He’s ok, with the way things played out
He’s not tearing the pages out of his story, of his story
He was really missing for a while
He had no ambition for a while
I could tell that he was thinking if all of it was ever worthwhile
So he threw away all of his love for a while
Falling for whatever caught it for a while
But it only made it worse, so he ran back to his first
Cuz at least the love he gave to her could never get him hurt so
He’s ok, with the mess he made
He’s just writing the book of his own history, own history
He’s ok, with the way things played out
He’s not tearing the pages out of his story, of his story
