Monsters under my bed
Inside of my head
They say they’re hungry
But I’ve only got water
Bugs hum, make too much noise
I can’t hear my voice
Wish I could tell them
But I don’t speak buzz

Footprints cover my floors

I walk in circles
But I’m looking for the stairs
Up to string lights and paint
Where the witches are saints
The freest thinkers
Break some rules
Feed the beasts and tuck in the bed bugs
Eat now, go to sleep now
Step back, I’m taking out soldiers
It’s safe now, and it’s not too loud
