Still We Carry On

I believe there’s something more
Hiding behind curtains
That get drawn against the light
That we all want
But cower from
And I remember sitting by the harbour
Drinking whisky
I was 16 years old
And waiting for my life to start
And in the morning
I would hold my dreams
Like they meant something
I would try to catch the vapour
It is weightless
Watch it fade
Coz life is not a circle
Nor a line that carves
A trail through time
It’s nothing
We are nothing
And yet still we carry on

Only a molecule
Away from me
Another life, another world
Or maybe there are none
And even if we all exist
Only in simulations
And everything I am thinking
Is just someone else’s dream
I still feel I am drinking whisky
Looking at the water
