Well the barrooms close at two A.M. in St. Louis
And I’m always the last one out the door
There’s at least a hundred barrooms in St. Louis
And I’ve tried them all a dozen times or more
I’ve drank beer from old Milwaukee
Bourbon from Kentucky
And I’ve had my share of California wine
I’ve sipped Tennessee’s best whiskey
Drank every bar dry in this old city
But all the spirits in St. Louis can’t get you off my mind
I know every bartender in old St. Louis
And I know every barmaid by her name
You’d think with all the friends I’ve got in old St. Louis
One could find a way to easy my pain
