Like a Kid Again

Woke on the wrong side of the bed
A million details in my head,
All tryin to bring me down
They call this living but I’m not sure,
The whole thing goes by like a blur
Wish I could slow it down and do you ever look in your childrens eyes
To a simpler place in time when we could
Spin in circles til we fall down laughing
All your days begin and end in make believe and just pretend
Running barefoot in the rain, oh life was just a game
I’d trade all this real just to feel, like a kid again
When did my innoncence get lost,
Where did I lose the girl that thought
That nothing was too far
Sometimes it’s all so serious,
I’d like to rent a yellow bus and drive into the stars
And turn off the world for a day or two
Without a single thing to do but maybe,
Walkin on the beach, playing in the sand,
Countin all the stars, playing kick the can
Running in the sprinkler until it’s almost dark,
Buying candy bars and putting fireflies in jars
