The Great Doomsday Story

I just want to tell the great doomsday story of our generation,
Though no one wants to listen, no one wants to see it
I know that there is something happening here…
I never heard my Daddy say son I believe in you whatever you do
I never made a penny from any song I´ve written but I always feel like singing
to you
So i ask, where have all the good people gone —
Or is this just a doomsday story?
I like to see the Buddha speaking with Elijah, man I´d write those tongues of
fire right down
I’d like to see Nietzsche grabbing that whipped horse, I´d say stick the course
In cafe´s of Paris, drinking red wine beauty, Rimbaud and me deranging our
senses
In Russia with the Wolves on a mad dash from prison, Dostoyevsky me and freedom…
So I ask — where have all the good people gone,
Or is this just a doomday story…
