Tongue Tied

I keep trying to speak freely, to say what’s on my mind:
That you can take me or leave me, just don’t take up my time.
I keep getting closer, then my voice begins to shake
And something takes me over when I try to call your name
And then I’m tongue tied, my words are all broken,
I don’t know what to say
But I’m on cloud nine and this perpetual motion
Makes all the pain I’m feeling go away
So you think you can change me, and leave this all behind
Like I’m a part of the scenery, just a toy that you can wind
I try to talk it over, I know just the words to say
