Where Did My Dirt Road Go

Lots of things have changed since I’ve been away*
Foleys farm sold out to the interstate.
There’s a dozen stop lights where
There use to be three Joe’s gass was cheaper and his air was free.
A mile or two down the road ain’t what it use to be
Where we’d go racing rawhiding and four wheel driving
An old country road couldn’t be more invitin’last one to the bridge
Had to buy the beer there’s a place down there I had my first date
A helluva party done by the gates and outrunning the cops in a cloud of dust
Sure was fun but it’s been cleared off and covered up with concrete lots and
homes
Yeah where did my dirt road go
Never dreamed there would be a home depot out there in the pasture
Where we use to go
We’d build bonfires and ride dirt bikes
Camp out and stay up all night now theres a parking lot with city lights
