It’s a slow walk down from the street to the reef below
That’s why I come here, but only when the wind don’t blow
Sure there’s a word for this, in the old polish tongue
A word for wasting the day
Wasting the day and getting nothing done, like I said
That’s why I come
For the moment all escapes my mind
A privilege in this head of mine
For the journey was a long and noisy one
There’s people I left, who should’ve come
I remind myself that this beautiful child
With its strange accent and pretty smile
Has no cause for alarm, no life on the farm
Like this pool beyond the reef knows nothing
Knows nothing but calm
There’s no waves here baby, that’s the point
Nothing can do you no harm
So let me throw my line in
Let me reel it in slow
For is there nothing greater
Nothing greater than to be free with nowhere to go
Just here on the stone
And watch the back of the boats
Until the seafront glows
For at the end of the day, I know, I know
Someone I love is calling
It’s time to go
