The Hourglass Runs Fast

Rest in the comfort of a world I never knew,
if we even make it standing.
Tomorrow and always
and with half a mind in two,
how did we make it so far through?
With bare feet bleeding in
horror but I couldn’t quite see it.
Skin holds so simple.
With flesh redundant
I’ll shed the shame but the stink of it
still holds. So strangle
the pulse till nothing even hums and the rest will have to come.
Burying the replica
of the world I stumbled through.
All I have to make is for the few
that held me high on
shoulders just to help me cross
