Told- I played this record and they told me give a little bit of, uh,
intro of clarity on what it’s really about
'Cause it’s- it’s a fresh song and it’s about, you know, flexin' and shit
But it’s about the mentality of staying the coarse
Uh, a lot of people during my career time would tell me, uh, what I should do,
what I shouldn’t do
And everybody would tell me to be safe and have these backup plans and shit
like that
And, you know, the minute I would give somebody an opinion and say, «Hey,
what do you think I should do?»
They would usually send me off by not telling me to take a risk,
but telling me to be safe
And being safe has never gotten me to where I am now
It’s always held me back, uh, so now when people offer up their opinion,
it’s more like, «Which car should I drive? Which Rolex should I wear?»
Because, it’s really just laughing in the face of that, um, of that mentality
It’s more like, «Ayy, I know what I’m doing, this is the vision,
and this is when I’m putting it out»
You can’t ask people their opinion on your vision because only you know your
vision and only you can show them that
So, uh, this song is like my graduation in a sense
Like, «Alright, I don’t need any more opinions, I know what I’m doing,
I know what I sound like, I know what I wanna say to the world»
