Reoccuring Grey

Wake me up from this nightmare
Because in this dream I can’t trust myself
I thought I’d seen an end to these attacks
Thought the world had destroyed every last nerve
An imbalance so cruel it never lets up
I’ve seen this show a thousand times
But each time it just gets more fucked
Throw logic out the door, bring disillusion and fear
Distort everything in sight so that nothing is clear
A pending apocalypse has to be near
An end to everything I’ve loved, yet somehow I’ve grown numb
I’ve conditioned my mind to accept the worst
Yet it feels too familiar, like somehow I’ll return
To this same lonely state
To this reoccurring grey
To this infinite hell that I fear follows me
