Like a wound in night’s flesh
The baleful eye of a gibbous moon
A foaming mouth
Yawned in the sky
A gaping hole
In the canvas of black
Foreboding doom
Enigmatic glow of burning flames
Encaptured in a sacred shrine
Unspeakable yearnings of my heart
Inflamed with love for the divine
An entrance to the void beyond
Entranced by the splendours obscured
Ominously enchanted by the wonders
That hide behind death’s door
A pull that grows from nothingness
Like a wound in night’s flesh

Whirling mist surrounding the throne
Of the nightside’s ancient monarch
