I Asked for Wine, He Gave Me Blood

Fall from the skies, dizzy and find my end
To the beverage of the vengeful beast condemned
I was restless through the unfruitful light
But I have searche the brazen gates of night
Father in Hell, to whom my strenght belongs
My loves, my wars, all my wisdom and my songs
With nothingness before me, and alone
To then what hope of answer shall I turn?
I asked for wine, but he gave me blood-to
Quench my desire, and raise me-the divine
Bless my waking, from the fiction of god
My salvation and last companion, wine
For he was given the unthinkable task
Of bottling much of hidden truths in a flask
And compelling all enlightenment distilled
To one mysterious ardent sphere greatly filled
