Raining Birthdays

Mama raven hit the wall
All that’s left to break is news
There’s probably someone I should call
But I stay outside of my shoes
On the outskirts of this town
Under a house that’s upside down
It’s someones Birthday I should know
It’s raining birthdays I should go
I’m broken off inside my house again
Like anybody i’ll pretend
I’m going out into the world again
Like anyone after a bitter end
I’m taking off on the autumn trail
To join the leaves seasick and dead
Wear it out just to watch it fail
Like anybody sick of seeing red
