With the breaking of the day
Comes a soothing that the Earth provides but only for who’s willing
All the sorrow it melts away
As the first light bans all emotion from the substance of your memories
But still left me in decay
For I’ve sinned beyond redemption
And I’m haunted now forever
So I have but this to say
To the people who are keen on hearing all about me, nagging:
All these vows I had to break
They don’t know
All the laws I had to bend
Or forsake
To reach it all and have it now
Made me a lone ranger
A moon gazer
Life is water in my hands
In a desert full of eagles and I don’t know where I’m headed
Evaporating into air
And at the same time slipping through
Before I get a chance to drink it
