Well I left my home in a Scotia town
Moved out west where I’d be found

Well I never thought my life would change
Always thought it’d be the same

Slowly starts to fade away

So very close I could almost taste

Seagulls cries at the fishing warf

The mackerel runs and the dory boats
The simple ways I love the most

The Scotia land I once despised

But I’ve still got my memories

Through the years I’ve wondered why
The grass seemed greener on the other side

I packed it up and moved away
