Different Stories

He took his dreams out on the ocean
It’s there he ponders all his plans
He knows the wind will take him places
Though he lost his leg in Vietnam
And in his vision, there’s a lady
One who will not make demands
She’ll just love him in the good times
And in his bad times, understand
She left the city life behind her
And all it’s simulated smiles
Gave it all up for the sunshine
And the easy life in the Virgin Isles
And then one day while she was working
He limps into the small café
Shares his life with dreams and stories
As he sits and casually conveys
Different stories, different times
Treasured memories, that keep our dreams alive
Some are true and some pretend
Some live on and some will end
A story is all that you believe
