Rime

Wash your face
Inside my stream
That runs into
My sea so green
I wonder if the blue sky
Stops right there
Leave your door wide open
Leave your window
Open
Take a breath
And step aside
I hear my heart
Opening wide
My lips don’t miss
A single beat
Please be patient
Just a little farther
O, can you see the sea
Beneath your feet
Taste the sea spray
Twice as sweet
Angels gossiping
'Neath wings so fleet
They’re not children of God
No, they’re not
Speak to my son
And tell him
That I love him
Though I may not sail home
Now I lay with you
Evening Star, I’m with you
All my love is
For you
Now I always lay with you
So now
You’ve sat
To hear our tale
Though it’s quite some time
Since we all set sail
There’s a time of year
When I just feel bad
I remember
Your name
