We are not the first ones who have lived here
City built on city through the ages
Strengthened by technology, we conquer to survive
But like a dream it could all fade away
Now the seventh decade is behind us
Time to face the challenge of the Eighties
Will the nations find a peace, conforming to survive

Like the ancient mariners before
Sailed in wooden ships around the world
We can travel farther in a day
Can we see the reason why we live
Like the sage who studied all the stars
Gazing through a hollow wooden glass
We see far but cannot reach the end
