Dreams and Tomatoes

This afternoon, I had a dream
That we lived underneath some trees
I met my daughter
If that’s so hard to believe
that theres a fear inside of me
that I’m like my father
So I called her every day to
check if she was okay
I was probably a bother
But if carings what I think it is
And love is for your next of kin
I’m glad I got her
So if I could have just one more dream
I’d let you come along
camping underneath the trees
I’d still wake up and write a song

Last night I saw the ocean
it was swirling in my head
it was just a memory
Of my younger days
when life was more than just okay
my early story
The backseat of my car
you know, it really took me far
across the Southern States
Cause I’ve seen the great unknown
Held its secrets all in tow
Too high an interest rate
