Civil Execution

We’re told freedom and security can’t coexist
And force fed the fact that living free isn’t worth the risk
We fall for the media tricks all too often
And we drive the nails into our our coffin
Do unto others, but do it first
The new American way is a modern curse
As we rise for an imagined war, taking sides against what we’re fighting For
cries of shame, invitations to a robbery
Last acts of democracy will seal our fate
And we’ll let pride mask our mistakes
Filling lines every time to give away our lives, civil execution of human
Rights lies, no blame, while the earth is writhing in pain
When democracy dies, liberty truly dies and we’ve been compromised
