Waking Death

Free me from this prison formed of flesh
Too long have I desired to depart
Wake me not from my lucid dreams
For there I tread the path towards the great unseen
Thus I rise
Rid of human form
This futile false image of God
Soul ascent
On wings of death I fly
To liberate the self is to die
Eternity in silence
An ever open eye fixed upon the starless emptiness of sky
Ever seeking solace in bitter nothingness
The anguish of existence lingering in death
Time counts down to zero
Moments cease to pass
For here there is no future or memory of the past
Amaranthine darkness
The gateways are concealed
Ignite me with the flame by which they are revealed
When at last I am unbound
Rid of hopeless need and aspiration
Out from the chasm I’ll ascend
Through gates wide open
To where the truth is absolute
Where all obstructions are removed
Where mortal rules are broken
Where all delusions are destroyed
I am here
My waking death
And there upon the departure of my being
An all-encompassing darkness encircled and enraptured me
It set me upon the winding pathways towards damnation
So that I could know for myself the absolute absence of anything
